Job Description
Standards and Relationship Management
1. China GB/T, FZ/T & SN/T Standards Management - (35%) This will be a principal portion of the job focusing on promotion of the technology and products to help our customers meet the standards important to their business.
a. Participate regularly and actively in Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) GB, SN & FZ, etc. and those standards created by and/or adopted by retailers and brands.
b. Introduce new work items, revisions and amendments as needed to SDOs to promote the effective use of our products and technology.
c. Perform continuing review of China and International standards that relate to and affect the operations and application of products.
i. Provide reports and recommendations to management on gaps in product details and the corrective measures needed to be implemented to meet the market required standards.
ii. Liaise with Engineering and Service groups with a focus on ability to conform to standards developed by SDOs
d. To be the first point of contact to answer inquiries from customers and sales staffs regarding the application and/or use of instruments and products to the relevant standards and test methods. As needed, provide support to customers with questions on calibration and correlation.
e. Provide service and sales information on growth opportunities
i. Provide regular reports on visits and recommendations for follow up by other departments as needed
ii. Perform a gap analysis on our abilities to fulfill our customers’ needs within the context of our product line.
iii. Prepare and present promotional material such as papers and informative presentations on products as they relate to fulfillment of technical requirements.
2. Key customer contact- (25%) A key to effective promotion of image as a technical leader and continuing commitment to customer service and support. Regularly visit and meet with major retailers and organizations that may be creating or specifying test standards for their own and their vendor’s use. The purpose of these visits are to—
a. Create an effective and productive relationship with the key industry decision makers.
b. Promote the products and services of the company on a technical basis rather than a sales basis
c. Identify and provide recommendations for correction of any relationship, service, or product problems
d. Develop and publish internal support documentation and training material regarding product use and performance
i. Internally seek to improve the technical competency of all customer facing personnel as related to applications and standards
ii. Externally promote a customer view of company as a technical leader in our field such that we are the customer’s first point of contact for questions
3. Sales (25%) Actively sell company products and services to customers in China through the company’s China staff.
a. Answer technical inquires originating from customers and prospects related to company’s products and services
b. Seek and contact sales prospects for referral to appropriate staff
c. Follow up all inquiries promptly to qualify prospects and to eliminate potential objections
d. Provide guidance to sales managers to negotiate sales contract
e. Provide regular reports of activities, and competitive activity for the China territory
4. Textile Technology Services- (15%) Supplying technical support for company’s products and services.
a. Will visit customers for startup and training of new equipment when believed to be strategic for customer satisfaction and/or further business opportunities
b. Provide training through webinar and in person seminars
c. Run trails as required
